Bay Times Review of badfishstudios @ 2006 Sugar Valley
March 16, 2007
By Sister Dana Van Iquity
Georgianne Fastaia of Badfish Studios had a series of extremely moving pieces entitled “Remains to be Seen: Ruined Paintings from New Orleans After the Flood.” The pieces looked as if they had sustained water damage. “My work is about transforming the ‘mistake,’” said Fastaia. “In the process I reuse old paintings, actively damaging the surface to give back history, with my goal to reflect my acceptance of a less perfect yet more whole concept of beauty.” For more about this, browse badfishstudios.com.
